New Management Dashboard Helps Monitor Performance
of HIM Departments And Meet Demand For Accountability
Washington, DC — Meta Health Technology announced today at the joint IFHRO and AHIMA Conference in Washington, DC the availability of PowerView, a new dynamic management tool that helps HIM managers monitor the performance of their departments any time anywhere with a web browser. At a glance, HIM managers can see how they are tracking on key measures for abstracting/coding, record completion, chart tracking, and release of information (ROI). With this tool, managers can immediately identify issues or problems and address them before they escalate.
PowerView was developed to help Meta's clients meet the increasing demand for accountability at every level in health care organizations. The product is the newest addition to Meta's CHARMS 2000 suite of software solutions that enhance day-to-day operations in the HIM department.
PowerView provides a potent productivity monitoring tool that tracks such metrics as unbilled dollars, number of incomplete records, percent of charts delivered on time, number of outstanding requests for information, etc. The system automatically gathers all this data from the installed CHARMS 2000 applications and displays these statistics on a single screen with an easy-to-read dashboard-like presentation that alerts managers when key measures deviate from the target.

PowerView also provides historical data for all tracked measures, allowing managers to assess HIM department performance over time. With a single click, managers can view a graph that shows statistical trends for any measure being tracked. This helps identify areas that need improvement or where additional resources may be needed. Quarterly chart deficiency data for JCAHO reporting can also be easily captured.
